From Brazil, With Love

Here is a brief follow-up to my report last Sunday evening. Hopefully, these pictures give you a better sense of the people and ministry on our Brazil trips. Thank you for giving and prayers, which make these trips possible. The leaders we train constantly express their love and gratitude for PBF for sending us!

Grace and peace,

Pastor John

Above is Brian Pate (RTIM), Josias Siqueira (local pastor from Cuiaba and primary translator), myself, and Wemerson (pastor of host church in Lucas do rio Verde). This group has been a part of almost trip to Lucas.

A pretty typical hotel breakfast spread. The Brazilians love their breads... which is I often feel at home there!

The class in our last module. This group was much smaller due to the elections.

A picture of me teaching during one of the sessions. This give you a better sense of the class size and what the church auditorium looks like. (Note: the signage on the sign was promoting a missions emphasis in giving.)

This is the invitation for the ordination service for Pastor Douglas, which happened the last night we were in town. He will continue to serve at First Baptist Church Lucas.

Here is one shot of the roads we traveled to get to the airport after the highways were shut-down due to the election protests.

We came through in one piece! Our driver and his (dirty) truck--gifts from God to get us to the airport.
